DEC Protocols |
ER Decontamination Law Enforcement CPS Medical Facilities Follow Up |
Law
enforcement, child protection services and medical personnel all play a
major role in rescuing, treating and protecting children found in drug
labs. As Drug Endangered Children teams recognize, it is vital that all
three units understand the others' roles in these cases.
National, state and local protocols are being formed for each segment of
DEC response teams. As those protocols are finalized, approved and
adopted, we will publish them on mappsd.com.
Meanwhile, the following outline is a suggested guide to help initial
response units protect a child discovered in a clan lab and preserve
needed evidence for prosecution. Please visit the associated links
for specific details.
