Codington County/Watertown

Since holding its first meeting in January 2004, the Codington County/Watertown coalition has worked steadily to increase awareness of Meth-related issues through community presentations, training of target groups and many media-related efforts.  Some of their biggest successes include launching the Meth Alert program with local merchants, assisting the SD Dept. of Game Fish and Parks in providing Hunter Safety Courses several times a year, establishing a DEC (Drug Endangered Children) Team, and providing hundreds of educational events in the community.

The coalition is currently working with local schools to schedule presentations for students and parents.  The group is also working to maintain the integrity of the local Meth Alert program by identifying and training new businesses/staff in Meth-related issues.
