Labs & the National EPA

In August, 2009, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency released its voluntary guidelines for Meth lab cleanup.   The guide includes an examination of remediation standards, sequence and techniques as well as information on worker safety, developing a cleanup plan and disposing of contaminated waste.

The Agency also provides a detailed list of item and material specific best practices for remediation, from ceilings to floors, kitchens to kids' items and everything found in a residence.

You may access an online PDF of the EPA Guidelines here.  The Drug Enforcement Administration's Guidelines for Law Enforcement for the Cleanup of Clandestine Drug Laboratories (2005 Edition) is referred to in the EPA publication, and is another reliable source.  The PDF version is available here.
