MAPP-SD Events & Trainings - Current

January

20 – Rapid City  During the Western Dakota Tech Wellness Fair, MAPP-SD will have a resource table for students and staff on the dangers of Meth use and Meth labs and how it can affect the rest of the community, from housing safety to increased crimes and violence.

21 – Rapid City The public is invited to attend the MAPP-SD Rapid City Meth Coalition quarterly "Lunch & Learn" meeting.  Our guest speaker will be from the Indian Health Services' Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program for Meth addiction. The program has now had clients for over a year, and we will hear about the successes of the program and learn about what they do to incorporate cultural practices into their treatment program.  The meeting begins at noon in the community room of the Youth & Family Services' Girls Inc.

26 - Stephan - Parents and community members will learn about the dangers of Meth during the Crow Creek School Parent Night, as well as how to recognize the warning signs if their teen or young adult child (or their friends) become involved with Meth use. Practical strategies to not only intervene if use is suspected, but also to help prevent use before it starts will also be shared. The event begins at 4PM CST at the Crow Creek School.
