February

18 – Rapid City The MAPP-SD Rapid City Meth Coalition will staff a booth at the Western Dakota Tech Wellness Fair.  Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about Meth's impact, trends and what they can do. The booth will be staffed from 10 AM through 3:00 PM at Western Dakota Tech.

26 – Rapid City The South Dakota School of Mines & Technology Wellness Expo will include an informational booth staffed by the MAPP-SD Rapid City Meth Coalition from 10 AM to 3:00 PM in the school’s Surbeck Center.


March

12 – Rapid City A Meth & Property Seminar/Workshop will provide information for Real Estate professionals, counselors, alcohol & drug professionals, landlords and others concerned about or interested in the effects of Meth on property. Speakers will include MAPP-SD Meth Prevention Coordinator Nikkole Abbas and others specializing in the subject.  The seminar runs from 9 AM to 4:30 PM in the Surbeck Center at SD School of Mines & Technology.  Download a PDF Flier & Registration Form

19 (backup date March 20 in case of bad weather) - Several speakers have been invited to speak at the 2nd Annual Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Meth Conference.  The daylong event will focus on Meth's impact, its prevalence on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation, and ways community members can fight back. The Conference will include emphasis on Lakota cultural values and traditions as part of the solution as well.
